I am writing to remind you that all Gateway 4th Grade students will be performing in just under a month in the 4th Grade Chorus Spring Concert on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 at 7:00pm in the Robert A. Read Performing Arts Center (Gateway High School Auditorium). 4th Graders from Evergreen, Ramsey, University Park, and Dr. Cleveland Steward, Jr. Elementary Schools will combine together to perform a variety of music they have been working hard to learn this year. In order for us to prepare and rehearse for the evening of the concert as one large group, we will be traveling to Gateway High School on the morning of Tuesday, May 14th. Your child should have brought home a permission slip to be signed and returned to school so that he/she may participate with us in our rehearsal at the high school. You can find a copy of the permission slip HERE. On the evening of the concert, students should wear something nice white on top and black on the bottom. Boys should wear a white shirt with a collar, black dress pants, and black dress shoes with black socks. Girls should wear a white blouse and black dress pants/skirt or a black and white dress with black dress shoes to be comfortable in for standing for the duration of the evening. If your child does not have this, he/she should wear something as close as possible. We want to look our best, but no one will be told they cannot perform with us on stage! Students should report to the high school band room no later than 6:30pm to get in our concert order and warm-up our voices to perform. We will visit the band room during our rehearsal, but signs will also be posted directing them where to go. I look forward to seeing everyone there! Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you might have. Here is that information again at-a-glance: 4th Grade Chorus Spring Concert Tuesday, May 14, 2019 Robert A. It’s that time of year again! This is your reminder that our 3rd Grade Spring Recorder Concerts are coming up in just under a month! All students are encouraged to attend the concert to share our learning of the recorder and music this school year.
There is no formal dress code for this concert, but I will encourage everyone during music class to “dress your best.” Whether that is a nice spring dress, khakis and a button down shirt, or your best pair of jeans and a nice top, I want everyone to wear something that they will feel proud in after a fantastic performance!
Please plan for your child to arrive no later than 6:40 in the music room so that we may line up in our concert order and warm-up our voices and instruments before the performance. If you have any questions about our upcoming performance, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to seeing everyone in May! Sing-cerely, Mr. Verno 1st Grade Singing Games Night is just around the corner! This is your 1 week reminder! Come join your 1st grader to see and share in the joy of music making. Evergreen's will be on Wednesday, April 10, 2019 at 6:30pm in the Evergreen MPR, and CSE's will be on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 6:30pm in the CSE MPR.
This is not a typical musical performance! Instead of a having concert performances in Kindergarten and 1st Grade, we have “inform-ances” like these to share and inform what it is we do in music class each week. All First Grade classes will combine together in the multipurpose room to share our favorite singing games, rhymes, and activities. Parents and older siblings are invited to join us as we make music together, but participation is not required. We will be moving and grooving around the room and taking up a lot of space, so seating will be limited. As always, if you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me. I hope to see you there! Sing-cerely, Mr. Verno |
